MARISA BALKUS - FOUNDER / HEAD MISFIT

MARISA BALKUS is a veteran producer and executive specializing in anime, adult animation and IP adaptations. She began her career in live-action feature film at New Regency Productions, contributing to a bevy of critically acclaimed titles, including THE REVENANT and AD ASTRA. In 2017, she followed her love of anime to Crunchyroll, the world’s leading anime streaming service, where she oversaw a slate of original series and co-productions produced in Japan and the United States.

Most recently, Marisa served as a content executive on the Adult Animation Genre team at Netflix, where she specialized in gaming adaptations, including Arcane: League of Legends, Devil May Cry and Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft, collaborating with animation studios primarily based in East Asia, Europe and the United States.
